This collection contains annual reports compiled by the colonial governments in the Gold Coast and British Togoland (modern day Ghana). The documents pre-date the official establishment of British rule, covering the period up to Ghana’s declaration of independence in 1957. The Annual Departmental Reports provide a comprehensive overview of the evolution of British colonialism in Ghana.
Note: The statistics for Ghana, but not Togo, are included in the Colonial Africa in official statistics, 1821-1953 collection.
