Description These estimates of revenue illustrate how the Government made and spent its revenue during 1920 and from 1925 until 1929. While expenditure was incurred upon various aspects of running the country; income came from the following sources, most relating to the river: Customs; Port Dues; Licenses, Excise, etc; Fees of Courts or Office etc; Post Office; Rent of Government Property; Government Vessels; Interest; 'Protectorate', including Hut Tax, Farm Rents, and Traders Licenses; and 'Miscellaneous Receipts' which chiefly consist of the proceeds of sale of old stores.
