# Microfilm

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Can the microfilm be indexed?

Yes. Once we have retrieved the data from the scanning process, we can index this information in your preferred format.

### What if the microfilm is damaged? Can it still be scanned?

This depends on the level of damage but if it is readable with the human-eye, it can be reproduced.

### How are the digital images returned?

Images can be sent in a number of ways, whether digitally, using a cloud sharing platform, or hand-delivered, in a hard-drive or USB stick. Preferred methods are usually either: an encrypted HDD delivered securely to the customer, a digital download link, an SFTP transfer, or DVD/CD (for smaller jobs). We can integrate with your current workflows or provide [cloud storage](/document-management/store/cloud) to facilitate the delivery of images.
