Microform offers a wide range of paper and document scanning services.
It is increasingly popular for businesses, organisations, institutions, and charities of all sizes to convert their files and archives into digital formats.
Here at Microform, we have a wealth of experience when it comes to scanning paper documents, having worked with international corporations, medical and healthcare organisations, and financial institutions – to name just a few.
How paper scanning works
Set up and designed for bulk scanning, our services are open to both individuals and businesses looking to get their important papers and documents scanned.
Once that a consultation has taken place, often our marked and digitally tracked Microform vans will pick up the documents from a client.
Having checked each item, file, or sheet from a roster, the project is then carefully delivered to our own facilities.
Upon arrival items are once again checked against a roster and are prepared for the scanning process.
Once each image has been quality checked, the images are then delivered to the client. As soon as they have been approved, the original papers are then delivered back to the client or are destroyed and recycled at our secure facilities.
Benefits of paper scanning
When it comes to converting paper records and documents into digital formats, businesses can appreciate a wealth of benefits including:
For businesses that own large archives the scanning process instantly frees up physical spaces, allowing many companies to expand and grow within their building without the need to move premises.
With files backed up on secure systems and servers, digital files and records can only be accessed by authorised personnel.
What’s more, once the physical papers have been scanned, and the digital formats have been uploaded to servers, they are forever protected from safety hazards such as floods and fires.
Having files and records on a digital database enables any single document to be sought and accessed within a couple of seconds.
Businesses and organisations around the UK have gained thousands of hours of case-handling time and in return have saved vast sums of money.

Having been around for over 50 years, we have a wealth of experience when it comes to paper scanning, and have worked with a range of international businesses, medical organisations, and academic and financial institutions.
With that in mind, we know how to handle the privacy and safety of confidential and sensitive documents, which is why we are often thought of as one of the most trusted file scanning companies within the UK.
Utilising a range of security measures throughout our facilities, we ensure the health and wellbeing of all documents, records, and books within our care.
Paper destruction and recycling
As many of our clients choose to scan their documents and files to improve physical storage space, we also offer a secure paper destruction and recycling service.
By having old papers destroyed and recycled, companies benefit from tighter security.
If a company happens to have particularly rare or noteworthy papers, or would just like to keep hold of them for their own records, we also provide a secure return service.
For businesses or organisations that do wish to have their papers destroyed however, we offer full privacy and destruction – putting the papers through an industrial shredding machine before they are then compacted and recycled into new material.

Yes, we work with a range of businesses that use A0, A1, A2, and A3 formats as our specialised scanners cater to almost any common size of paper.

Can you use Optical Character Recognition during my paper scans?
Yes, any papers that we scan that have been typed can undergo the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) process.
Of course, in the event that a paper or file is presented in poor condition, this may hamper the quality of the scan.
We do however supply experienced proof readers to amend mistakes as part of an extra service.
I have confidential papers, do you scan confidential material?
Up to 80 per cent of the material that we scan at Microform is in fact private and or confidential.
From invoice statements through to medical records we ensure a fully secure and confidential service that puts the privacy of our clients at the centre of everything that we do.
How are the digital files sent to me for approval?
