Eid al-Fitr 2023

Today marks the Eid al-Fitr religious holiday in Islam. The celebration, which falls on the first day of Shawwal in the Islamic calendar, is an important religious holiday for Muslims as it marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Following the month of prayer, self-reflection and sacrifice, the Eid al-Fitr holiday is a way for Muslims to celebrate their accomplishments throughout Ramadan and show gratitude towards God. Eid al-Fitr is a time of celebrations, special prayers, family, special food, gifts and giving to the less fortunate.

British Online Archives would like to wish all those celebrating a very happy Eid Mubarak. We hope today is filled with love, happiness and peace
