With over 50 years’ experience, Microform Imaging Limited provides one of the most comprehensive, multi-document scanning and microfilming services in the UK and its origins can be traced back to 1956, when the business was known as Micro Methods (later E.P. Microform, then Microform Limited).

The company was set up as a publishing venture to serve academic institutions in the microfilming of research materials and theses, taking on work from forward-thinking commercial and public-sector organisations that appreciated the benefits of image capture services in meeting their legal requirements to retain and manage key documentation.

The current Chairman, Nigel Le Page, joined the business in 1964 and very quickly rose through the ranks to become Group Production Manager of the then five companies that spanned the country.

On the 4th July 1988, he and wife Glennis headed up a management buyout, when they bought the business from its previous owners.

That same year the company changed its name to Microform Imaging Limited and has grown in size ever since.

Since the millennium

Key milestones since the change of name have seen the business move to new bigger improved premises in 2005 and the appointment of a new Managing Director in, son, Jonathan.

Jonathan joined the business in 2002, working on several IT based projects, which have seen improvements in the highly sophisticated technology we employ and he has assisted in overseeing the launch of the British Online Archives.

It goes without saying that the digital era has brought about a demand in change for how customers are managing their documentation and day-to-day physical material.

Such demands have been one of the primary drivers in the development of our bespoke Registration Entry Gateway software for councils, which has brought Birth, Marriage and Death retrieval and certificate issuing into the 21st century for Registration Offices.

We have expanded our management team with appointment of Neil Bowker in 2011 as Operations Director and new appointments in the sales leadership of both our Publishing and Service divisions.

2016 saw us achieve our compliance certification for the coveted ISO 27001 accreditation (Information Security Management).
